Get to know your intuition. All day long, we make decisions that we can’t explain. Your values are at play behind the curtain, pulling the strings. The values test lets you finally peek behind it.

Your values tell a deep story of who you already are.

The test will reveal:

1

Your twelve values, ranked. Your top values feel near-instinctive in everyday life—like core principles you do not want to compromise on.

2

Your rarest values. Some values are more common than others globally. See where you stand out most—your own magic.

3

Why some tasks repel you and others draw you in. There’s always a deeper reason motivating what we do, especially when you find your actions difficult to explain.

4

How you and the people you love may differ. The strongest disagreements between us, and within ourselves, occur when our polar opposite values collide.

Simply put: your values are your true nature. This test lets you meet them.

Backed by 40+ years of science.

This is not a Buzzfeed quiz. Supported by research on hundreds of thousands of participants, across more than 300 samples in more than 80 countries, the PVQ-RR (the revised Portrait Values Questionnaire) is the most validated values testing instrument in the world—built by Prof. Shalom Schwartz and refined over four decades.

We all share the same twelve values in different amounts. Yet, our own combination of values is what makes us truly unique. Some of us are motivated by self-direction and achievement, others of us are motivated more by power and stimulation. Knowing your own values is key to not only understanding yourself—but also seeing the motivations of others.

Once you see the twelve values in your daily life, you cannot unsee them.

Some of your values tug at one another—like when you both want to eat a donut (pleasure) and get six-pack abs (face and security). Other values support one another—like when you raise $2,000 for charity, motivated by both serving others (benevolence) and achievement.

Wherever you look, you will find the twelve values, pulling on the strings of the decisions you make, and the actions you take.

Questions

How long does it take?

Around ten minutes. It’s best to take it in a quiet, reflective space.

Is this a personality test?

Nope: the testing instrument measures what you value. Curiously, research shows we see our values as closer to our ideal self than our personality traits.

Will my values change over time?

Research shows that our values stay remarkably steady over time. That said, they do change when our life circumstances get upended—like when we move to a new country with a different political system, or completely change our field of work.

What’s in the report?

Your twelve values ranked and scored out of 10, your four orientations (openness to change, self-enhancement, conservation, and self-transcendence), a closer look at each value, and shareable cards made from your results. Plus the PDF keepsake, ready the moment you finish.

Who can see my answers?

This test was designed with security and privacy in mind. I don’t want your data. It’s yours. Your answers and the name you type live only under your anonymous secret key—no email address, no account, and I cannot look at individual results. Payment details stay with the payment processor, and deleting your saved answers deletes your results too.

What if it doesn’t resonate?

Reply to your receipt email and I’ll refund your $25, no questions asked. I want this to be something you’re glad you took.

Isn’t this test a part of your course?

Yes! The Values Test is the centerpiece of Overcoming Procrastination and comes included with it.
